Amazing Faiths Dinner

Strangers of different faiths come together to a host's dinner table. A moderator deals question cards, everyone answers from their own life, and nobody is allowed to debate.

In the fall of 2006, Houston's mayor Bill White had a book on his desk: The Amazing Faith of Texas, Roy Spence's portrait of how Texans of every tradition pray, gather, and hope. Houston had quietly become one of the most religiously diverse cities in the country, and White wanted the book's spirit loose on the streets. He convened the city's interfaith leaders, and with Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston and Rice University's center for religious tolerance, they built the Dinner Dialogue.
