Amy Brendmoen read about flamingo parties – where neighbors put out a plastic flamingo outside of their home to invite folks in – in a magazine and figured she'd try one in her own St. Paul, MN, yard. “I wish I could take credit for inventing the idea,” she says. “I thought it would be a cool way to do a noninvasive casual gathering.”
