A park bench with a sign: “Sit here if you don't mind someone stopping to say hello.” The sign gives two strangers permission neither could give themselves.

In 2019, Allison Owen-Jones was walking her dog through a Cardiff park when she noticed an elderly man sitting alone on a bench. She watched him sit there for 40 minutes. Nobody stopped, and she didn't either; she worried he'd think it strange if a stranger just sat down and started talking.
