Soup Pitch Dinner
Five dollars buys you soup, salad, bread, and a vote. Neighbors pitch ideas for the neighborhood, everyone eats and votes, and the winner walks out with the whole pot.
Community Inspired
On February 7, 2010, while most of America settled in for the Super Bowl, a small group of artists climbed the stairs to the loft above Mexicantown Bakery in Detroit and set out soup. Snow started falling halfway through dinner. For a $5 donation, everyone got soup, salad, bread, and a vote. A few folks presented ideas for neighborhood projects, the room voted, and the winner took home all the money collected that evening.
