Disco Soup
A neighborhood party around rescued vegetables, where strangers chop and cook to dance music. Then everyone eats free soup.
Community Inspired
During a protest in 2012 in Berlin, Germany, called “Wir haben es satt” to advocate for more sustainable agriculture, a group of activists from Slow Food Deutschland set out tables piled with vegetables nobody would sell, handed out knives, and put on music. They called it a Schnippeldisko, or a chopping disco, and it ended up feeding eight thousand people with food that would normally be thrown away.
