After years of hosting NPR radio shows, Rachel Martin wanted to go beyond the script. “I was craving a way to have deeply thoughtful conversations that get straight to the core of what it means to be human,” she said when NPR launched Wild Card in 2024. “And life is heavy enough, so why not turn it into a game?”
